About Dr McKevith
James is a Doctor and Specialist Anaesthetist with more than 20 years’ experience. He is recognised for his professionalism, empathy and commitment to patient comfort and safety.
Focused, precise and calm, he brings reassurance to patients at every stage of their surgical journey — helping them feel informed, supported and cared for.
Experience & background
James studied medicine at the University of Otago in New Zealand and went on to earn fellowships with leading anaesthetic colleges in the UK and Australia.
His career has included senior roles in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Intensive care at major hospitals in the UK and Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and all aspects anaesthetics in Australia.
Today, he works across the Illawarra and Southern Sydney, caring for patients at both public and private hospitals including Wollongong, Shellharbour and Hurstville.
