Training & qualifications
This information is shared to help patients understand the training and standards behind their anaesthetic care.
In Australia, Specialist Anaesthetists are among the world’s most highly trained doctors.
After completing a medical degree and hospital training, doctors undertake at least five years of specialist training through the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. This includes extensive supervised practice, examinations and ongoing assessment in patient care and safety.
Once qualified, Anaesthetists have to continue regular education, peer review and professional development. James maintains registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and his membership of professional bodies including the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the Australian Society of Anaesthetists.
So you can be confident that Dr McKevith has the training, experience and commitment to keep you safe and comfortable — before, during and after your procedure.
